Drop-off and parking
The best parking for accessibility is in The Star Car Park, a five-minute walk to the theatre with ramp access. There is also a drop-off zone at The Star’s Harbourside entrance on Pirrama Road with lift or escalator access.
Wheelchair and transfer seating
Wheelchair seating is in Row P of the Stalls.
If you can transfer from a wheelchair/mobility scooter into a theatre seat, easily accessible seating is in Row Q.
These seats can be booked by contacting us to request a call back. Our Box Office will call you to complete your booking as soon as possible, between the hours of Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm.
Limited mobility or trouble with stairs
If you have trouble negotiating stairs, Stalls seating has the easiest access and there is ramp access via Doors 13 and 18. Most of the seats in the Dress and Grand Circle have stairs to negotiate.
Companion card bookings
Companion Card holders can book by contacting us to request a call back. Our Box Office will call you to complete your booking as soon as possible, between the hours of Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm.
Accessible bathrooms
Accessible bathrooms are located in both the Stalls and Dress Circle foyers.
Hearing Loop
A Hearing Loop is available in the Stalls, in the highlighted area of this seating plan. Patrons should adjust their hearing aids to "T" for reception.
Theatre staff can also provide an ‘Intelligent DSP RF Receiver (150MHZ)’ which can be worn around your neck for the duration of the performance. The RF Receiver works in all theatre seats. There are limited devices available, however we will do our best to assist you on your visit.
Service dogs
Accredited service dogs are allowed to enter the theatre upon presentation of accreditation proof. Service dogs must always remain on a leash and on the floor.
Distance from seat to stage
The approximate distance between the centre seat in the specified row and the front of the stage, measured from the safety curtain, is:
- Stalls, Row AA: 5 metres
- Stalls, Row D: 10 metres
- Stalls, Row H: 14 metres
- Dress Circle, Row A: approximately 16.5 metres
Stalls seating has a gradual incline right to the back of the auditorium. Patrons will be at eye level with the Stage at rows F-G. View the Sydney Lyric seating plan.
Seat size
Our seat cushions are 430mm wide x 440mm deep with armrests that are 320mm in length.
There is 460mm space between each armrest.
Seats without arms can be booked if required for accessibility via our Box Office.
