  • What time do I need to arrive before a show?

A good time to arrive is 30 minutes before the performance starts – or earlier if you would like to have a drink in one of the theatre’s licensed bars.

  • What if I'm late and the performance has started?

Live theatre has a 'lock-out' policy; a period after the curtain goes up when late-comers are not permitted to enter the auditorium. Lock-out periods are set by the production and vary from show to show.

  • What is the best access for mobility impaired patrons?

    1) If you are coming by car, the best spot to disembark is in front at The Star’s Harbourside entrance where there is a lay-by area on Pirrama Road. Patrons may then proceed up one level via the escalators or the lift, then turn left to walk to the Sydney Lyric entrance. There is an option to use the ramp for stair less entry. 2) An alternative is to drop passengers on the corner of Edward & Union Street. The passengers should walk past Adriano Zumbo and proceed through the food court until they come up to a ramp that leads into our Stalls Foyer. Note: We do not recommend coming in via Pyrmont Street.

  • Can I bring a bag into the theatre? Is there a cloakroom?

We suggest that you do not bring bags to the theatre. Handbags that are smaller than an A4 sized piece of paper can be carried with you, but we will ask you to store backpacks, cases, satchels, shopping bags and large handbags in our cloak room. Our cloakroom services are free of charge. The cloakroom is located in the stalls foyer. Due to our security requirements, we may ask you to show us the contents of your bags. We will accommodate patrons who need to carry equipment or medical supplies during the show. If you are uncertain, please ask one of our ushers who will be able to assist you.

  • Is there somewhere safe I can leave my suitcase?

  • Is there a dress code?

We have bars in the theatre that provide a wide range of refreshments suitable for the auditorium. Our ice-cream vendor will come into the auditorium during interval.

The child must be seated on the carer's lap for the duration of the performance. In the event of your infant causing a disturbance, we ask that you temporarily remove the infant from the auditorium. Please note that some shows are not suitable for small children.
